On 22-07-2016 the army aircraft AN-32 carrying 21 military personnel on board including six crew members. Aricraft was on its way to Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar islands, from Chennai when it disappeared from the radar and it was not able to locate till the date. Ekanath Shetty from Tulunadu was also a missing Soldier among 27.
The Indian army handed over Ekanath Shettys personal belongings to his brother Babu Shetty Kuttar. Sudendra Kumar from U.P. Came to Mangalore who was working with Ekanath Shetty. IPS Bhushan G. Bharose, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Vedavyas Kamath were present while army belongings were handed over to family members.
